Outdoor design course in Milan
In order to offer architects and designers the new professional abilities dictated by the significant evolution in the outdoor market of recent years, POLI.design/ Milan Polytechnic Consortium is organising ‘Outdoor Experience Design’ – a highly specialist training course in designing and fitting out public and private outdoor spaces. Now in its third edition, it will be held from 6th to 24th July 2009.
With Arturo Dell’Acqua Bellavitis (professor at Milan Polytechnic) as Scientific Director, the course develops through approx. 120 hours of research, theory lectures and teachers’ guided tours to innovative spaces and locations in Milan. The final work project will involve the virtual redefinition of the 1,000 sq.m. garden surrounding the Innvillà entertainment spot, where the designers will explore a variety of innovative concepts (www.outdoorexperiencedesign.it).
The future outdoor design ‘specialists’, selected both in Italy and abroad, may benefit from study grants provided by the academic partner SUN’09 (www.sungiosun.it), which is the leading sector fair (Rimini Fiera 8-10 October), and by the academic sponsors Florim Ceramiche, Jacuzzi, Parà and Dolan, which will be contributing to the teaching programme with their experience in research and production. The projects will go on display in a show at SUN’09. The selection process to assign the study grants is open to applicants until 30th June 2009.
