Host, Milan: Towards eco-compatibility
From Friday 23rd to Tuesday 27th October Milan’s new Rho/Pero exhibition centre will be the venue to Host, the International Exhibition of the Hospitality Industry.
Making preparations for this year’s appointment – a particularly delicate one overshadowed by the world economic slump – the Host organisers draw firm confidence from the excellent results registered at the 2007 edition (it is a two-yearly show we remind readers): 1,865 exhibitors, 350 of which from abroad, and 135,000 sector operators from 134 countries. Host 2009 is divided up into seven themes, entirely covering the three macro-areas in the hospitality-catering sector: ‘Professional Catering’ (equipment, systems and accessories) and ‘MIPPP’ (the Milan bread pizza & pasta show); ‘Bar’ (coffee machines and equipment), ‘Ice-cream & Cakes’ (machines, equipment, furnishings, accessories and products for ice-cream parlours and patisseries) and ‘SIC’ (the International Coffee Exhibition); ‘Hotel Emotion’ (the hotel industry show) and ‘Shop Project’ (the world shop-fitting exhibition). With the aim of ‘creating a system’, to enable sector operators to optimise their visit to the fair and to foster business opportunities for exhibitors, this year’s new initiative is the full integration within Host of ‘Shop Project’, a showcase specialised in store fitting out, where visual merchandising experts and sales outlet designers present their ideas within an entirely professional context.
