Macef: quality and an eye on expenditure
MACEF is back in Milan from 4th to 7th September. And the showcase gravitating around the home, decoration and gifts celebrates its 45th birthday with this edition (the first was in fact staged 6-9 September 1964).
As has always happened since it was opened, the Rho/Pero trade complex is playing host to the great Milanese expo. With this autumn edition (we remind readers that the fair is held twice a year, in January and September) the event aims to blend tradition and typicality with innovation and globality. A new layout traces an entirely linear journey through the worlds of furnishings, decoration and gifts (halls 2-4, 6-10 and 14-18), which are accompanied by the ‘Bjioux’ and ‘Fashion Accessory’ sectors (halls 9-11) and the table and kitchen realm (halls 5-7).
Instead, halls 1 and 3 house the newcomers introduced by this edition: the large ‘Gold&Silver’ section (hall 3), and ‘Workshop: tradition and innovation’ (hall 1), offering classic and modern furnishing items and accessories generated and influenced by local MACEF projects and offering several large regional groups of participants.
As regards visitor practicalities, Fiera Milano has come up with a ‘travel package’ – flight plus hotel – at an extremely advantageous price. It is an important initiative, developed to attract the public during a delicate moment such as this, where the strain of lengthy months of financial difficulty is being felt.
